Join Baltfoodies as we present an Americanized version of a John's (Jani) Day feast. |
John's (Jani) Day is very obviously a pagan celebration of the summer solstice and is celebrated throughout Europe, but primarily in the Baltic countries of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. |
When one looks up Jani on Wikipedia, it says that Jani is observed by: Staying up all night, lighting fire, eating cheese, drinking beer. |
Sounds like a great Baltimore Foodies dinner party to me! |
