Join Baltfoodies as we present an Americanized version of a John's (Jani) Day feast.
John's (Jani) Day is very obviously a pagan celebration of the summer solstice and is celebrated throughout Europe, but primarily in the Baltic countries of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
When one looks up Jani on Wikipedia, it says that Jani is observed by: Staying up all night, lighting fire, eating cheese, drinking beer.
Sounds like a great Baltimore Foodies dinner party to me!
